Adult Blemmyes of this type stand between 6 and 8 feet tall and are covered by a tough, almost rhino-like hide. Their warriors wear heavy hide chausses and carry a heavy shield into battle. Most prefer heavy morningstars, maces or wickedly-serrated picks. they almost never use missile weapons, presumably due to diminished depth perception.
It is currently unknown how--or what--the Blemmyes eat. It is suspected that they breathe through a series of small pits or pseudo-spiracles that cover their bellies.
A classic, and that's a fine image as well, with a lot of detail to extrapolate.

Thanks! These guys have been in the pile of stuff to get done one of these days for a long time now. I'm slowly working through that pile in-between bouts of drawing new stuff. There are a lot of these things to get done for the various PDFs...

ReplyDeleteYeah. I've been pretty slow getting around to some of this stuff. I have six types of Blemmyes illustrated as of today, so I'm making up for it.
