We'll be running four different scenarios at Con of the North this February.
Friday
Grave-Robbing in Xanibet [GL2]
Time Slot: Friday Feb 14th, 2PM to 4PM
A simple 2-hour mini-adventure featuring plenty of the usual greed, avarice and vengeful undead using the Swords & Wizardry (Complete) rules, with a few modifications as outlined here at our blog, as part of the Gravelands Series of adventures that continue from Taglar's Tomb [GL1] and The Not-So Empty Crypt of Baljessor [GL4], both of which have been revised.
Pre-Generated characters will be provided; all the Pre-Gens will be available at our blog ahead of time. Readers who are going to be attending can reserve specific Pre-Gens if they contact us before the session.
Shifting Sands (and Black Cairns of Loshimar) [GL3]
Time Slot: Friday Feb 14th, 6PM to 8PM
A 2-hour mini-adventure of desert survival, lost caravans and a mysterious oasis using Swords & Wizardry (Complete) rules, with a few modifications as featured here at our blog. This is the test-drive version of another in the Gravelands Series of adventures that continue from Taglar's Tomb [GL1] and The Not-So Empty Crypt of Baljessor [GL4], both of which have been revised.
Pre-Generated characters will be provided; all the Pre-Gens will be available at our blog ahead of time. Readers who are going to be attending can reserve specific Pre-Gens if they contact us before the session.
Saturday
Wermspittle: Cellar Inspectors
Time Slot: Saturday Feb 15th, 2PM to 6PM
Inspecting cellars in Wermspittle is often nasty, brutish and short...unless you're very good at your job. This is a different sort of dungeoncrawl that begins in Wermspittle and ends up...someplace else. The player characters begin at the door to a cellar. Where they go from there is up to them. We'll be using Labyrinth Lord rules, with a few Wermspittle-specific modifications based on the Wermspittle materials to be found here at our blog. Especially spells, Random Tables, Encounter Tables...lots of stuff like that.
Pre-Generated characters will be provided; all the Pre-Gens will be available at our blog ahead of time. Readers who are going to be attending can reserve specific Pre-Gens if they contact us before the session.
Labyrinth Lord | Watch our blog for the Wermspittle Index and more.
Sunday
Zalchis: Cold Start
Time Slot: Sunday Feb 16th, 2PM to 6PM
You wake up in the dark. There's no power, no air. The floor is crumbling. The only way out is up. Grab whatever gear you can and get going. Before it's too late. Welcome to an alien apocalypse in the dying universe of Zalchis. This adventure will be using a modified version of the Mutant Future rules that won't require any previous experience with either the rules or the setting.
Pre-Generated characters will be provided; all the Pre-Gens will be available at our blog ahead of time. Readers who are going to be attending can reserve specific Pre-Gens if they contact us before the session.
Mutant Future | Watch our blog for the revised Intro to Zalchis, a new Index, and more coming soon.
We'll be featuring more details for each of the above-mentioned Scenarios, as well as more details concerning the Gravelands Series and the re-booted Zalchis setting here at the blog in the days and weeks ahead, leading up to the Convention.

We're looking forward to it.
What a wonderful set of adventures! IAnd Zalchis. And Wermspittle! need to pour over my GMing schedule for the con, and see what I can PLAY!
ReplyDeleteWe like to start off simple and easy to get into the swing of things, then see where it goes from there. There will be bonus content for the Zalchis and Wermspittle scenarios here at the blog, as well as a few things for the Gravelands. Hope you can make it over to our table sometime. We're going to try to get into Jay's Rad Astra game and possibly a FATE game if the schedule permits.
DeleteCool! My Weird Adventures FAE game is called "The Anagrammatist". They left out all the references to Trey's book from the program - I have no idea how that happened, urgggh - but that is the Trey-game in case you were wondering!
DeleteThat would be the one we would like to get into; we'll see what the schedule says. This should be a fun weekend!
DeleteWonderful is the word alright. Do places need to be booked? Beyond the registration and pre-gen preferences I mean. Whoever gets in has struck it lucky. These are games the players are likely to remember a long time, and could be moments communities will look back on in years to come, as they do now at the early days of the hobby.
ReplyDeleteThere are forms in the packet we received for signing-up ahead of time. Pre-registration is usually a good idea, as some games fill-up rapidly.
DeleteWe're just looking to have some fun, and hopefully the players have a good time.
