Clever, aggressive and hardy adventurers from the vast grasslands of some distant world they refuse to name to strangers, the Rhinocerenaries are highly skilled combatants, siege engineers, artillerists, and all-around adventurers. They are always for hire, even when already employed, and will always serve the highest bidder, but only so far as they themselves determine (based on CHAR Reaction mostly, though the employer's reputation, status and behavior also matter). They do not accept contracts, instead preferring to work off of a basis of mutual trust and respect, allowing them to switch allegiances when they deem appropriate. The better the pay and the more frequent the perks or bonuses, the higher their loyalty will be, but miss a payment or fail to offer them an inducement from time to time and they will desert you. Several tomes have been written by those who have attempted to study the idiosyncratic interpretation of loyalty from a Rhinocerenary viewpoint, but few of these offer anything much of any real use beyond what is detailed above.

All Rhinocerenaries know 1d4 random spells and have a few tricks, skills and bits of knowledge that they have picked-up in their travels. They particularly love books and good vegetarian dishes that make use of various grasses and seeds. They will drink fermented beverages, but have a hard time getting any real effect due to their massive tolerance for alcohol (+4 bonus to all Saves against all forms of poison).

A good Rhinocerenary always has a plan, most of which include escape routes and back-up provisions including the names and offers of other employers in the near-by area, just in case.
