Duration: 1d8 turns for the process, then Permanent
Range: Special

This is an excruciatingly painful spell that causes the target's skull to crystallize over the course of 1d8 turns. Harvesting the now crystal skull is left to the student as an exercise in practical necromancy.

  3. What does crystallizing your skull actually do to the victim? And second, why is the range "special" but no further details are given?

    1. The victim spends 1d8 Turns in excruciating pain; unable to move, defend themselves, or cast spells unless making a Save, which extends the duration by one Turn, but does give them a chance to attempt to move, escape, dispel, etc. according to their skills, abilities, class options, etc.
      The range is "Special" because there are multiple variant forms of the spell that include touch-attack, ritual, and distant/projected targeting versions. A selection of some of those variant forms of the spell are provided in the supplement. The note pertaining to this got lost somehow. Thanks for catching that!
